 Advanced Learning Center

About the Program
The Advanced Learning Center, or ALC, serves students ages 12 to 22 through a comprehensive, person-centered educational program that prepares adolescents and young adults for greater independence, lifelong learning, and meaningful participation in their communities. Our approach recognizes that every student has unique strengths, learning styles, and goals, so we tailor instruction to help each individual reach their most meaningful potential.

In our ALC, students receive a well-rounded educational experience that blends functional academics, life skills, communication, recreation, and therapeutic support into their daily routine. Core academic instruction is individualized to meet students where they are, helping them build literacy, mathematics, and communication skills that can be applied in everyday life.

ALC Enrichment
Beyond academics, students participate in hands-on life skills lessons that promote independence in areas such as self-care, cooking, money management, community safety, social relationships, self-advocacy, and daily living. Recreational activities encourage physical wellness, teamwork, leisure exploration, and positive peer interactions while helping students discover new interests and build confidence.

In our ALC, learners receive group Speech, Occupational, Physical, and Mental Health Counseling therapies that are integrated into the school day. By working together across disciplines, our therapy partnerships help students strengthen communication, motor skills, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and social-emotional development in meaningful, real-world contexts.

Additionally, classrooms utilize The Autism Helper curriculum to provide structured, accessible instruction that breaks complex concepts into manageable steps and supports learners at their individual developmental levels. This evidence-based approach allows students to experience success while building the skills needed for continued growth and greater independence.

Above all, our Advanced Learning Center is built on the belief that every student deserves to be seen for who they are, not simply by their diagnosis or support needs. We foster an environment where students are respected, encouraged, and empowered to develop confidence, make meaningful choices, build lasting relationships, and prepare for a future that reflects their own unique goals and aspirations.
