The Mariposa Program

Mariposa
About the Program
Our Mariposa program is for students ages 11-22 affected by autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, and other related diagnoses. In this school area, we focus on developing and maintaining valuable life skills, communication skills, and independence in our students. This is done by encouraging self-advocacy, expression, and the use of communication devices throughout the classrooms. Along with implementing core academics, we want to prepare our Mariposa students to live as happily and independently as they can!
Mariposa Spreads their Wings!

Our Mariposa students partake in many different activities throughout the week to improve their socio-emotional and life skills. These include but are not limited to group speech and music therapy, grocery shopping, cooking, field trips, ballroom dance with our friends at Dynasty Dance Clubs and Face Autism, Inc., and volunteering with our partners at Mothers Helping Mothers! Community connection is an integral part of the day-to-day structure for our students and is a great way to keep them engaged.
